Ferenc Csizmadia (Csizi)

CEO and Product Manager

I am the Founder and ex-CEO of a cheminformatics software company, Chemaxon. My background is computer science (MSc) and chemistry (Ph.D.). While I love chemistry, lately, I have become very passionate about health.

I have always been interested in how to do science properly. It is startling to see how much bad science has infiltrated the health-related scientific fields, impacting everything from food guidelines to industries. My health has improved significantly by following a very low-carb, animal-based diet, much higher in proteins and fat than recommended by the guidelines. I want to help people who are open to a relatively new paradigm, ancestral health, proactively achieve their health goals. Our biology results from evolution, and it cannot handle most “improvements” of modern agriculture and industries. I also hope that the mindset of players who influence our health will improve, and we can contribute to that.

Gabor Csizmadia

Software Development Team Leader

I became interested in ancestral health sometime in 2020 after seeing significant improvements to my health from adopting a ketogenic diet. Since then, I’ve experimented with different diet variations to see what works best for me, and I am convinced that most people can also profoundly improve their health by improving their diet and lifestyle. I want to help share this message with as many people as possible, and I believe the best way for me to do that is to leverage my expertise in software development.

Over the years, I’ve worked as a software developer on many products and in many teams. I’ve gained experience in all aspects of web development, including frontend, backend, and even DevOps. I firmly believe that good architecture and code quality are crucial to keeping us productive in the long run, and I am committed to evolving Ancestralize with that mindset.

Erika Biró

Organizational Development Manager (future Product Manager)

In love with computer science, I first got involved with computational chemistry in 1998, after graduating from software engineering and mathematics at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. As a research assistant for 5 years at ICAMS, School of Chemistry, Univ. of Leeds I took part in developing a system called SPROUT that can assist in several stages of the structure-based rational drug design process. In 2005 I joined ChemAxon and went on to develop Marvin, a drawing and editor tool. We decided two years ago to build a new platform to support chemistry education where, since then, I am an active contributor as a product manager.

I love all kinds of sports, music, literature, movies, chemistry, and science. I live in the beautiful countryside with a big family and a funny labrador. I have always been health-conscious and have eaten a relatively low-carb diet. Recently, I have been on the autoimmune protocol paleo diet, and it improved my life.

We are building a great system to put real health science first.

Medical Research Team Leader

Functional medicine and ancestral wisdom first entered my life in 2014 when I began experimenting with different forms of fasting and supplementation. This interest later developed into a lifelong pursuit of nutritional information, ultimately resulting in a Master’s Degree in Functional Medicine and Human Nutrition and the creation of my functional nutrition practice, Second Life Strategies, LLC. My ultimate goal is to help empower others to experiment, test, and participate in their own health journey.

By exclusively relying on evidence-based data, identifying potential flaws in conventional treatment strategies, and facilitating the active participation of the user, we can work together to usher in a new paradigm of healthcare. I will be working to collect, examine, and validate all of the medical scientific research that will be used with Ancestralize, ensuring that our product will only be operating with the best data possible. I’m excited to be working with such an enterprising team and to be able to reach so many in need.

Gábor Erdősi

Senior Medical Researcher

I am an obsessive study reader and analyzer with an MSc in Molecular biology and an MBA background. I am fascinated by everything related to metabolic disease. Formerly known as The Adipocyte Jedi, I most recently started delving into small intestinal interactions between foods, microbes, and host physiology/immunity. I have discovered that this is the place where ‘everything’ starts, the true root cause of most ‘diseases of modernity’. I’m a natural-born skeptic and critical thinker, used to doing my own research. I prefer to adopt a bottom-up approach that focuses on fundamental science and mechanisms – in an attempt to get to the bottom of all matters.

Raphael Sirtoli

Senior Medical Researcher

I have experience working closely with doctors on patient cases, running neuroscience animal experiments and working in cell cultures to assess metabolic profiles. I have also published in the field of paleoanthropology.

I have an MSc in Molecular Biology which led me to characterize the metabolism of cancer cells versus normal ones. I won the Marie-Curie Early Stage Research 14 grant (ESR14), and used it to do 4 years of a Health Sciences PhD on the topic of anti-psychotics and ketogenic diets in schizophrenia.

Ancestralize, because it embraces evolution by natural selection all the while using the best that modern medical science has to offer, represents a wonderful opportunity to democratize access to high-quality health advice.

Wafa Elamin

Medical Researcher

My passion for preventative health started in the early years of medical school when we went on a community health placement in a small village in East Africa. I discovered my passion for working with larger population groups to help them achieve and maintain good health. After completing my MBBS, I went on to do a Master in Public Health (MPH). I am now a Doctorate in Public Health (DrPH) candidate.

While completing my postgraduate studies, I worked as a medical doctor in Sudan and within the National Health Service (NHS) in England. I gained experience in several clinical departments, including acute and emergency medicine. It quickly became apparent that one of the major health challenges we face is the rise of chronic diseases, many of which are preventable. My journey to solve this growing issue lead me to functional and lifestyle medicine.

I joined the Ancestralize medical team as a medical scientist to help create a solution grounded in the latest scientific evidence. I’m excited about the technology we are building and the impact it will have!

Jennifer M. Haskell

User Researcher

With a lifelong passion for human genetics and wellness, I orbited around the health field for most of my academic career–curating my “big picture” view with a BSc. in Environmental Science, and an MSc. in Soils & Biogeochemistry. Firstly, I wanted to learn how the environment shaped the food we eat, our agricultural systems, and the nutritional content of our food. This eventually led to a huge interest in microbiology, as plants depend on microbes as much as humans do! However, I longed for the chance to help others with my work. At Ancestralize I will be able to take my interdisciplinary background including years of research experience and apply it to discovering insights into human health. Outside of research, I enjoy latin dance, soccer, learning about evolutionary biology & anthropology, mushroom hunting, and cooking. My life goal is to bring awareness to technologies and information that can help people achieve optimal health and happiness.
